While everyone is focusing on the pandemic, and rightfully so, we must also keep in mind there are other diseases that warrant our attention. As a former coordinator of the Gentle Ben Charity Challenge, I had the privilege of directly seeing what your contribution can do in the fight against cancer; from the cutting edge research to the support programs to assist the survivors and their families. I have never been so proud of being part of such an organization.
So I’m raising money in support of the Gentle Ben Charity Challenge this year. Founded by Steven and Michael Pearl and named in honour of their father, Ben Pearl, the event continues to celebrate his memory by raising funds to help battle the disease that took his life at an all too early age.
Since its inception in 1997, the Gentle Ben Charity Challenge has raised over $1.6 million, all of which has gone to support several cancer research and support programs, with recent emphasis on supporting the ground breaking efforts of the McEwen Stem Cell Institute, based in Toronto.
