This past year with the pandemic in communities across Canada, it has been both daunting and devastating to watch this virus invade our lives and take loved ones from families. My admiration for all health care workers, administrators and support personnel has grown immensely, and admittedly, I was already a fan. They have sacrificed their lives, their mental health and they have feared for their own families and friends. Their humanity has been on display every day. Their dedication to all of us, and their support to those who have lost their lives to COVID-19 must be recognized by all of us, and so I’m participating in Give a Shift, an event to honour the hard work and dedication of the healthcare heroes at UHN.
In honour of these healthcare heroes, I am going to spend 12 hours of my time, the length of a typical shift at the hospital, challenging myself and showing everyone I Give a Shift!
More importantly, I need your help to raise funds for Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation that will support ground breaking research, state-of-the art technology and world-class patient care at UHN, and make lives better in our community and around the globe.
