Since 2012 our family has put our hearts and souls into Katie's Run. Back then we could not have imagined where Katie's Run would go and what it could accomplish. From 2012-2022 we met so many who live with epilepsy, as well as the many loved one lives that live with the challenges of epilepsy or have tragically lost a loved one because of a seizure. We feel blessed to have met you all and to have had a part in supporting each other through these challenges. Katie's Run has been an honour and joy for us to plan and host. However, we have struggled the last few years with a tragic loss in our family and Katie's ongoing health struggles. This has taken a toll and it is with great sadness that our family, with the support of the Pogue Family, have decided to end Katie's Run as we move to Nova Scotia. We hope you understand.
To date over $412,000 has been raised through Katie’s Run thanks to the generosity of the incredible Katie's Run community. Our hope is to continue to try to raise funds as time goes on through this page & various other ways.
We regret that this means funds will no longer be raised for epilepsy research through the Katie's Run event. We know this fight is not over and it is our hope that Katie’s Run will inspire future efforts to help uncover the brilliance that will end epilepsy forever! Thank you all again for your support and understanding!
The money raised is in support of the work of Toronto Western Hospital in the area of epilepsy research, specifically Dr. Valiante and his team at the Krembil Research Institute, Neuron To Brain Laboratory. http://www.neurontobrainlaboratory.ca/
