Hello everyone!
For the past 2 years, my family and myself have been participating in Katie's Run. Even though the run is postponed this year, I will still be running at home and fundraising towards epliepsy research.
All funds raised will be dontated directly to epliepsy research through the Toronto General and Western Hospital Foundation (TGWHF), specifically, Dr. Valiante and his team at the Krembil Research Insitute, Neuron To Brain Laboratory.
I'm honored to particpate in memory of my twin brother, Scott. For those who didn't have a chance to meet Scott, let me tell you about him! He enjoyed playing hockey on the Orangeville Wolves team, he loved action movies, playing instruments and driving around on his golf cart with the tunes blaring and no shirt on. He was the best brother anyone could ever have.
Growing up, Scott experienced myoclonic seizures. These were almost like small jumps. As Scott got older, these seizures were managed and didn't really affect Scott too much. On May 20, 2018 Scott experienced his first tonic-clonic seizure. Eight days later, he experienced his second, and then 10 days later, on June 7, 2018 Scott past away from Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) after his third tonic-clonic seizure.
Thank you so much for your support! We all love and miss you Scott!
